New Product - A Family of mini-PS4L Wafer Probe Stations

Written by Denis Place | August 31, 2021

SemiProbe today announced a new family of small footprint wafer probe systems specifically focused on small sample or package part testing.

The mini-PS4L series of wafer probe systems are an extension of our popular and patented Wafer Probe System for Life (PS4L) family of wafer probe systems.

The mini-PS4L wafer probe systems are sold as kitted systems and manual and semiautomatic systems are available. Configured systems start at $6,000 and there are DC, HF, and OPTO versions. Several accessories can be added to expand the system's capabilities. One of the best features of the mini-PS4L series is the perpetual field upgrade path.

“Historically we have built wafer probe systems for users testing wafers that vary in size from 100 mm to 300 mm. The mini-PS4L family of wafer probe systems addresses the basic characterization of small size devices - individual die, partial wafers, packaged parts, and more.

Most of these devices are 25 mm and smaller. Universities, government labs, and corporations performing basic semiconductor or material science testing are candidates for this product,” says Denis Place, Co-Founder at SemiProbe”. “ A unique bonus for the customer is our 100% credit of the original purchase price of the mini-PS4L wafer probe system for an upgrade to the larger PS4L platform. It really is a risk-free purchase and it offers the customer a perpetual field upgrade path for their probe systems.”
